ftp.sendmail.org/snapshots/
This directory contains snapshots etc of sendmail 8.x source distributions.
Snapshots are similar to alpha versions, e.g., they
- reflect the current state of development,
- may contain features that are changed or removed before a release,
- may not have been subject to rigorous testing.
The version for snapshots has the format
Major.Minor.Patchlevel.Build
e.g., 8.18.1.4
8.18.1.15 This version contains two FFRs to handle the infamous
restrictions not allowing recipients with different
domains in one transaction even though they have the same MXs.
_FFR_SAMEDOMAIN: FEATURE(`same_domain_only') enables automatic
handling of known error messages (the default messages can be
overridden by specifying arguments): if one of them is received
for a recipient then sendmail will try a new transaction afterwards
which only has recipients with the same domain.
Note: this is experimental code - please turn on the FFR,
enable the feature, observe the behaviour, and report
any problems (or successful operation).
_FFR_MF_ONEDOMAIN: mailer flag O: send only mails with recipients
which have the same domain in one transaction.
Please report problems via the usual means (see the README file in
the source code distribution) so they can be resolved before releasing
a new version.
[Pre]Alpha versions are not for production use, but for testing as a
preview of new features which are under development. Please provide
feedback and report potential problems.
Add-ons for the open source sendmail MTA, including spam and virus
filters and policy management tools, are available from Proofpoint,
Inc. See https://www.proofpoint.com/ for details.
Since sendmail 8.11 and later includes hooks to cryptography, the
following information from OpenSSL applies to sendmail as well.
